Words, Worlds & Power – Interactive Workshops on Digital Justice & Populist Rhetoric

How do words shape the way we see the world
And what power lies in the stories we tell about others and ourselves.

On November 20 & 21, we invite you to join us for two interactive workshops that explore the intersections of global inequality, digital culture, and political language. Together, we’ll look at how communication creates, reinforces, or challenges power structures, from global narratives about the Global South to the populist rhetoric shaping today’s media.

On the first evening, we’ll dive into the World Map Game – Digital Justice Edition, a participatory exercise that visualizes global inequalities in wealth, resources, and digital access.
On the second evening, How Populism Speaks, we’ll focus on language and explore how populist narratives use emotions, fear, and simplification to shape public opinion and how we can learn to recognize and question them.

Both workshops will be held in English, are free to join, and are designed for young people and students who are curious about global justice, sustainability, and communication. If you feel more comfortable speaking German, that’s absolutely fine, our facilitators speak both languages and will make sure everyone can participate equally.

Expect an open atmosphere, thoughtful discussions and of course, snacks & drinks
